God sends an Email out to certain people stating the fact that this is an opt out email If you choose to opt of of life you can do so right now. This also nontransferrable so frowarding doesn't work...What happens to them? Where do they go? Etc?

Great idea to set this up! :)

the following are various snippets I've had... use at your own risk!

- What if people used their bio-energy to fuel society (as a career?) - i.e., think a little matrix like, (but voluntary and not for the benefit of machines, but the benefit of humans). A person's job (or requirement as part of society) is to go to some place and get plugged in for 8 hrs a day

- (I wrote this idea down LONG before the movie "wall-e" came out - and then was surprised at the similarity - my thoughts had nothing to do w/ robots, tho - but the actual act of herding the population off the planet) The idea was that we have to get everyone off the planet, to someplace else, and then perform a massive renovation project. or - move them from one continent to another - shut a whole continent down. or - move everyone to boats while the land is renovated.

- i thought about writing about life in a new space hotel or spaceport from the point of view of one of the workers.

- Geo-caching - on a galactic scale

- "amnesia treasure hunt game" - your memory is intentionally erased and you are given clues to find out who/what you are.

hope this helps someone. If anyone writes something based on the above, I'd love to hear about it / read it!
:)

Now the question I have, is it a _local_ conservation (localized to, say, the person) or is it global / universal. =-O

Yeah, I wrote a couple stories with that as a premise.

Nate Silver of the web site FiveThirtyEight is clearly a genius. I've seen him give interviews, and it is also possible that he is an alien or a robot. He crunched enormous numbers of data and predicted the US presidential race within 3 electoral votes.

So: earth as the great horse track of the universe. What are non-human folks betting on, and how are they trying to skew the odds?

Nikola Tesla said that if one found the correct resonance, the earth could be rung like a bell.

His idea for the wireless transmission of power involved essentially filling the atmosphere with static electricity (if i understand it correctly).

If the atmosphere was fully of energy and the earth were rung, what would awaken? What would the earth's "voice" sound like or say?

(Tangentially: if the atmosphere were full of static electricity, would eveyone's hair stick up? Would things spontaneously spark and start fires? Could the entire atmosphere explode with the right catalyst?)

Just testing this out. Oh, and need the obligatory idea for the garden of course. Hmm, random thought: What if there is a physics-like law of conservation of karma?

Here's some ideas of mine that I suggested to someone.

I got my idea for my setting for my second novel that I am currently writing from the place where I grew up. My grandfather lived there as well as my great great great great grandfather. Pleasant Bay is tucked into the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. I am not kidding about the above point in terms of my family history. The location is beautiful.. stunning. I am writing a ghost story and Pleasant Bay has ghosts, forerunners, rumrunners, hardy Cape Bretoners. It is perfect! The sea and the breathtaking mountains and varied wildlife and plants. Who could ask for more?
