Here is my idea for a novel. A man is on a fight to somewhere. The fight attendant comes by to serve drinks. He notices how atractive she is. Years later after he has married and divorced twice and she has married and divorced three times, they meet again. They fall in love and get married. After they have been married for some time they discover they met years ago on the fight to somewhere.

Re vegetarian vampire - I was thinking of possibly doing a story where such a character manages to find reasonably adequate substitutes in carrot juice and wheatgrass juice, as they are chemically similar to hemoglobin. I was also toying with the idea of a Orthodox Jewish vampire - as Jews are absolutely forbidden to eat blood. Could he get a rabbinic dispensation to use blood from a kosher animal? A blood bank?

A story about trying to do away with Murphy's Laws. The most basic one goes something like: if something can go wrong, it will and at the less opportune time.

It could be using science or magic.

I got the idea when I had problems trying to write two pages a day on two different novels. So I can finish both by Christmas. I finally set a goal and all kinds of things come up to keep me from it. Must be one of his laws.

There's "Vlad the Drac" which is a childrens story about a vampire who is vegetarian and faints at the sight of blood. But I wouldn't throw the vegetarian vampire concept out purely based on the conviction that it's been done before. Unless you write like Aurthur C. Clarke, and don't feel as happy with character development as you do in exposition, I'd say it's possible to do a good job on it.

A df story based around the concept that magi's blood gives the drinker power. There could be a group of renegade magic users that declares war on the legit magi-- there could be animals that when fed the blood of a mage become stronger, faster, more intelligent.

a story where you go into the minds of children. Take a child and have them be your main character and anaylize everything from their point of view.

I guess I enjoy "potal" stories--secret doors hidden in ordinary things which lead you to another, world, diminesion, universe, or a fantasyland..
Thank of new places to put such portals--in a dim place int he swampy woods, inside a special gift box which opens onto another world.... things like that...
