Forum rules
This forum is for questions that don't fit into a more specific workshop's forum. (If there's a more specific forum that's appropriate, please post there.) For example, a post about writing science fiction belongs in the SF writing forum, but a post about writing that applies to all writers could go here. Questions about the general nature of the critique.org workshops could go here, but not about a specific workshop.

Scammers

Postby crit33087 » Mon Feb 27, 2017 5:15 am

Hey everyone. I had someone respond to my RFDR and I sent my MS but he's been MIA for the past couple weeks since I sent it. I specifically asked for him to send one chapter at a time so I could discuss them with him, but I've heard nothing. Does this happen often, or should I be worried that I've been taken for a ride?

I have had the same thing happen with two different potential readers. I sent my manuscript and never heard anything. I am not worried about scammers though. I believe these are merely people with poor interpersonal comunication skills, little understanding of edicat and a lack of commitment.
