I love the Babel story thing, passing around stories is one of my favorite classroom activities I used to like in English class if everyone takes it seriously and doesn't get too gross about it. I thought the beginning of the horror story was a little too harsh about the main character being a "dyke", then she gets kidnapped and humiliated, it felt like they were trying to punish the character for being a lesbian so I took it in a different direction.

yeah i don't like the way the sci-fi story went, it was very confusing with things being a dream and then not a dream so I tried to put an actual plot in there and then someone just turned it into a raygun blob alien story. It's kind of irritating when people don't take it seriously. Can we delete the last paragraph? I liked when he was going to talk to his dead father.

I think this is a wonderful initiative and it hits home with me.

In fact, I find brainstorming story ideas (plots) to be so much fun, I decided to start up a free online story brainstorming service. Just for the fun of it!

So if you are interested -- the URL is www.StuckOnMyStory.com.

Keep writing! ;)

Awww! No fair! Are you watching, Santa?

The science fiction story was hummin' along, sounding logical, then someone comes along and ends it. And they changed tenses! Grrr!

Sorry, Santa, I think I'm gonna have to quit. I don't like where this is going.

I thought it'd be FUN!

Waaaaaahhhhhh!

Sniff.

I like the idea of Babelstory, recently I was playing around with a similar idea I called Character Improv. Some friends started playing around with it a bit, but kind of fell to the wayside as of late.

Interesting, sounds like a society based on free robotic or cybernetic labor. The robots could be used over and over as each person pays his or her taxes. What would happen to that society when they no longer need a monetary system because of the free labor? Then they find out the bots don't work without a person's spirit.

Scientists say that, at some point in the distant future, astronomers won't be able to observe other galaxies, due to expansion of the universe.

If a civilization emerged millions of years in the future, they wouldn't know the existance of other galaxies, or suspect the universe is expanding.

So, then, here's the question: by being at the point in time we are today, what knowledge are we missing?

We had this a while ago but I let it lapse -- so I've just now restarted it. It's at: http://critters.org/babel

Enjoy!
