I made a typo when I put in the post, being a bit tired from a full day. But it's Spam from your inbox.

I just thought you might want to know what your inbox is doing without you...

It may be that Marten's computer has been compromised. It's just as likely that someone else is spamming, but using a forged FROM header from a random, real edress. That latter happened to me and, separately, to a company I used to work for.

There are ways to tell the difference, but I don't think I could diagnose it long-distance.

Exactly. And further, one usually doesn't know that one's computer is compromised until one of the spammees points it out. So, info given, and it's up to Marten to worry about it or not.

My excuse for messing up his name, after all these years, is confusion brought exhaustion. In another post, on another ng, I claimed today was the last day of October. I apologize both to Marten and to the month of September.

Just did an extensive antivirus scan on the Windows boxen. If it's still happening it isn't any of my systems.

At least I don't think so, but let me know if that wasn't sufficient.
