formatting and line breaks

Postby crit17602 » Wed Dec 07, 2016 5:42 pm

I fear I've resubmitted a manuscript several times, but the formatting still isn't quite right (at least, it looks odd in the automatic reply email that I receive). Line breaks are introduced after some (but not all) quotation marks. For example, in the sentence:

When proclaiming something ominous, such as "Something wicked this way comes," Giselle believed it was important to do so with the proper tone, ...

It becomes:

When proclaiming something ominous, such as "Something wicked this way comes,"<lb>
Giselle believed it was important to do so with the proper tone, ...

(the <lb> represents a line break) It looks fine in Notepad. Any suggestions appreciated.
