CritTech question - 05021510 - RFDR - partial credits

Postby CrittersMinion » Mon May 02, 2016 9:10 pm

Web form question for CritTechers:

Name: Thomas Krug

Subject: RFDR - partial credits

Workshop: critters

================

Hi, is it possible to award RFDR credits for each
_section_ a reader completes, rather than award
all credits once they've finished the whole novel?

Here is the answer to a similar question I had:

Hi, Kathleen, the author is in complete control of when they award credit in an RFDR. The reason for awarding it at the end is for the author's benefit: It keeps the readers motivated to read the whole piece, rather than drifting away in the middle. If you award partial credit, a reader may not keep going. That's the "dedicated" part of dedicated reader. :)  But it is up to the author. The rules just give the author that control; up to them if they want to use it.

(And right, posting chapters to the weekly queue is the other option.)

Cheers,

Andrew
